1.  How much time will we have to spend on this?

All in, Strategic Launchpad™ will require a day or so from each participating member of your planning team. This includes time to complete the online survey, consider a few questions about your organization's future, and participate in the facilitated workshop.

2.  What’s the difference between Strategic Launchpad™ and strategic planning?

Strategic Launchpad™ distills the vital essence of strategic planning for those leaders who have not yet formalized their strategy development process. It’s a “first run through” for those who want to better understand the value strategic thinking and planning can add to their organization's success.

3.  How long will it take to build our Strategic Action Plan?

From start to finish Strategic Launchpad™ should take no more than 3 to 4 weeks. This gives team members a week to complete the online survey, another 5 working days to consider the results and mull over the questions posed in the Strategic Action Planning Workbook, a third week for the facilitated session, and time to distill the session results into a cohesive, communicable and actionable planning document.

4.  What does it involve?

If Strategic Launchpad™ is right for your organization, there are a number of distinct yet highly interrelated components. At a minimum, your Launchpad includes:

  • an exploratory, online survey for up to 50 stakeholders,

  • Strategic Action Planning Workbook to help team members identify and prioritize strategic issues and consider alternative courses of action,

  • a facilitated, decision-making session for up to 12 people to agree on strategic priorities and collaborate on developing a Strategic Action Plan,

  • documentation of your Strategic Action Plan, and

  • a 1-hour follow-up session – after approximately 90 days – to review progress and update your rolling Strategic Action Plan as necessary.

5.  What type of guarantee do you offer?

Our job is to ask your team the right questions and stress test the answers – your team’s job is to agree on the actions that will move your organization forward. Having said this, if you do not believe Strategic Launchpad™ is worth what you have paid, we will refund your money. It's that simple!

6.  How does strategic planning differ from strategic thinking?

Simply put, strategic planning is the process of a) formulating a set of strategic priorities on which to focus in the years ahead, b) formulating and scoping out the initiatives that will lead to long-term success, and c) developing an action plan to support these priorities and operationalize the initiatives. Strategic thinking is the mindset you need to bring to the table to build a robust, relevant, and defensible business strategy. 7.  Does Strategic Launchpad™ make sense for charities and other not-for-profits?

It certainly does! Every business organization, whether its mandate is to earn a profit or serve another purpose, must align stakeholders in pursuit of a shared mission and an inspirational vision. This is particularly important for charities and other not-for-profits that rely on volunteers and donors. People have choices when it comes to allocating their time and money. Organizations that have taken the time to understand what their stakeholders value and have factored this understanding into a thoughtful plan for achieving their longer-term goals are much more likely to succeed than those that don't.
